Bakare Edeki – Managing Director/CEO

Mr. Edeki Bakare is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Personal Trust Microfinance Bank Limited. Before this appointment, he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Bank from 2017 when he joined the Bank’s management team. Prior to joining Personal Trust Microfinance Bank Limited, he was the Group Chief Accountant at Diamond Crest Group where he was responsible for the accounting function of the four (4) subsidiaries in the group. He began his banking career with Access Bank PLC in 2009 and rose through the ranks to the position of a Head of Operations within three (3) years before joining Accion Microfinance Bank Limited as an Internal Control/Compliance supervisor.

He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Institute of chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN). He is an award-winning Certified Microfinance Practitioner (MCP) by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and holds a Proficiency Certification in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom.

He holds a B.Sc. degree in Accountancy from University of Benin, an M.Sc. in Accountancy from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
